Titan’s rotary motion test systems are designed for our customer’s unique requirements. Products tested include pumps, motors and hydrostatic transmissions. Variants include open or closed loop, fixed or variable displacement, single or multi-section, displacement, pressure, and speed. Motor and hydrostatic transmission systems generally incorporate regenerative technology to improve operating efficiency.

Gear Pump and Gear Motor Test Systems

System hardware and software are designed to address the unique requirements of gear product cut-in. High capacity filtration is required to manage the debris released during cut-in. In addition, the primary mover must be upsized to provide sufficient torque during cut-in. Our software is designed to facilitate a customer’s prescribed pressure and speed cut-in profile. Automated particle counting can be integrated to actively extend flushing to meet customer’s cleanliness requirements.

Radial Cam Piston Motor Test System

Systems are designed to accommodate the high torque capabilities of these motors. To test the motor under full load, the test system is designed to utilize two identical motors opposed to one another. The test system imposed rotation by rotating the interconnecting shaft between the motors.

Hydrostatic Transmission (HST) Test Systems

Hydrostatic Transmission

 

A basic HST test system consists of a pump and a motor. Test systems require at least two drivelines, one for driving the pump and the second for loading the motor. Test system sizes range from those designed for small HSTs used in turf care to large HSTs used in large agricultural vehicles. Unlike a pump or motor test system, workport flow is typically integral to the HST and unavailable for measurement.

Auxiliary Valve

Auxiliary valves consist of multiple sections assembled together to form a stack to be used in mobile applications. A typical stack consists of 2 to 10 sections with each section being selected for a specific function. Sections consist of a directional control spool with or without a float position, proportionally actuated mechanically, hydraulically, or electrically. Sections may include workport reliefs, PO checks, pre or post pressure comp and flow limiters. Sections may utilize a load sense feature for pump control or be of an open center design for use with positive displacement pumps.   

Titan has taken two approaches to test auxiliary valves. In one approach, the section is tested alone and then a very simple test is performed on the complete stack. A second approach is to perform section level testing after assembled into the stack. The approach is usually governed by the customer, although Titan can discuss the pros and cons of each.
